Ceramicist and draughtsman Shane Kent studied under ceramic artist Yoshikawa Mizuki in Japan in 1979 and later completed a Master of Fine Art degree at Monash University. His intimately scaled porcelain vessels draw from elements of the Australian landscape and employ a ceramic staining technique to reference the intricacies of the natural environment. Kent has exhibited in Melbourne since 1985. He has completed significant commissions in Melbourne for restaurants Golden Fields and Cutler & Co. in Melbourne. Kent’s work is held in several Australian regional collections.
