Dr. Maryanne Coutts lectures in painting and drawing at the Faculty of Art & Design at Monash University. Thirst is a collaboration of paintings, sounds and texts which explore transitional elements such as ice, lava, smoke and cloud. The artist combines the aforementioned mediums in a way that creates a conceptual space within which new ideas can be generated and nurtured. This book and animation (provided on a cd) were produced to coincide with the artist’s exhibition Thirst at Australian Galleries in October, 2009. The publication is limited to 100 copies, each individually editioned by the artist.
