Painter and draughtsman Jenny Bell completed a Bachelor of Art at the Sydney College of the Arts. Her emotive paintings on hoop pine and works on paper depict the artist’s experience of rural life. Bell has held solo exhibitions in Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney. She was Highly Commended in the S.H. Ervin Gallery Portia Geach Portrait Prize in 1992. Bell has also curated exhibitions including ‘In a Certain Light: Clarice Beckett and Olive Cotton’ at the Ivan Dougherty Gallery in 1995.
