| On 12 November renowned printmaker Hertha Kluge-Pott gave a floor talk at the Melbourne Works on Paper Gallery addressing the work in her current exhibition of drypoint prints and drawings. The artist spoke extensively about her strong personal connection with the natural world and the unfolding sense of place in her work. There followed a discussion about the artist's working processes, including technical details about printmaking. To give the audience an insight into the drypoint printing process Kluge-Pott brought to the gallery two plates that related to work in the current show, and a selection of engraving tools. Audience members were encouraged to handle the tools and experience markmaking onto a copper plate. Kluge-Pott's current exhibition 'Recent Work' concludes on Sunday 20 November 2005. ![]() |
